The Kossuth County Treasurer is an elective office with a term of four years. The current County Treasurer, Nicholas P. Rahm, was originally elected to the position in 1994. The duties of the County Treasurer as specified by the Laws of the State of Iowa are as follows:
The County Treasurer is the recipient of all monies payable to the County, and acts as the central depository for all County Departments/Offices. This duty demands the County Treasurer to disburse, manage, and invest the funds in his possession. The County Treasurer reports these activities to the County Board of Supervisors.
